Chapter: 5-Chapter Five
  • Jamming

I foresee gunfire and laser blasts, in the 153-155 or there abouts. If I right, I am a psychic, if wrong I just have violent tendencies.

    ITS A TRAP!!!

  • Torbjörn Larsson, OM

Back alleys, shadows, old acquaintances, … yep, this is going badly.

[Funny, I thought these were metal panel housings until the planking showing up here. Guess it must be plastic panels then, which makes more sense I guess. The color scheme throw my interpretations off, apparently.]

Torbjörn: Isn’t it possible that different buildings are made from different materials?

Also, I’d expect most of the action to take place in the latter half of the chapter (we are almost a third of the way through, so it’s not long to wait.) 😉

  • Jamming

Darn I was expecting one of those, “Hey nice seeing you again.” moments.

Or maybe the planking was secured with hyper-nailguns or something. It is a scifi setting, after all. In fact, those planks could be metal too, for all we know. Or maybe the buildings are wood.

  • The Tosh

IN this year, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and EVEN Wisconsin is having a revolution! And the comic is about revolution on corrupt factions!

  • Torbjörn Larsson, OM

@ Holly: Well, sure, I have no complaints on this or the rationale of it.

Doesn’t explain my misread though, since it (and I guess the color scheme) was consistent. Now there could be painting, but I didn’t get that impression either. And we are talking impressions here (or at least mine).

    @ sirbacon:

Heh, from “rail gun” to nail gun. Yeah, that will sew together my impression with some consistent world view.

Another save, the planks could be partly metal, as in the bio-metalorganic nature of Keith Laumer’s “Retief’s War”. After all, _we_ incorporate minerals in everything from trilobite eyes to our own skeleton and teeth, and metals in many of our enzymes. It is ‘just’ “a matter of scale”. 😀

  • Torbjörn Larsson, OM

The Tosh, thanks for alerting me to Wisconsin’s troubles! Hope it will mean better government in the end.

  • Jamming

Not sure how government workers collective bargaining equals better government, expensive government I understand. Better pay than the non-government worker who pay more taxes for government, yes. Inability to control an overinflated employment and salaries, yes. Better, No.

  • Torbjörn Larsson, OM

Hmm? Protests equal a more sensitive and pliant government (ideally). As for the specific requirements, I couldn’t care less, the context was “Tunisia, Egypt, Libya” and political unrest.

  • Jzmming

The voters spoke on this issue electing new officials and the minority refuse to accept it, so they protest and hold hostage the governance. Hardly the same of the other comparisons, apples and oranges. Now for returning to non-political discussion.

Transitions between the frames are smoother than they have been, very nice shifts.
