Yay for teamwork! lol and is it just me or is a “If you want it done right, you gotta do it yourself” on the way?

    YEAAH THAT’S A GIRL

Did you model Azatoth methods and psych off of Klingons?

  • Drew

@Hamstap85 To tell you the truth I am not a huge fan of Star Trek, and Holly has only seen, Deep Space 9. So to answer your question, no we didn’t model anything from Klingons.

  • Jamming

Any science fiction or fantasy can be seen in another similar work. That’s one thing that I like about this genre, I see inspirations from other sources that were only attributable from my sci-fi experience. Experience the dream and the dream shall never die.

  • Obakeinu

    Welcome to my ambush.

This is one version of ‘hide and seek’ where, if you pick the right ‘playing field’, the former holds a better hand than the latter.

Several more minutes of this and somebody’s gonna wish they had picked off the ‘A-list’ at Thugs R’Us ®.

I maintain the idea that they are careless because of the shield. Now they know that somebody is killing them. Move in group covering each other from all sides? No. They did not even trained their weapons. I have the impression that the thugs are not used to get killed. This I think because of the shield. Yes true they are against very well trained Azatoth but they are not even trying. They have weapons and shields and the others can use only their body and knives. In a normal combat situation the thugs should have the upper hand but they are making every mistake in the book and unsurprisingly they die.

Generally thugs wouldn’t have military training, they would be used to getting what they want through intimidation (how many people would honestly stand up to someone with a gun?). Also, the random alien/human dudes are mercs not Shadow Cabal (The Shadow Cabal are highly trained Azatoth, they don’t accept other species into their ranks) and they would be the only ones with shields.

Finally, Agrippa and co are using knives and hand to hand because it’s quiet and they are playing up the stealth angle. They are vastly outnumbered, going in guns blazing would alert Kaleb to their whereabouts and could have fatal results.

oh snap things are just realyl heating up nwo great work holly and drew just simply amazing

tbh not a huge fan of the kick, that’s a really hard one to pull off from a standing position on the ground and it’s a really awkward angle too. Basically it’s flashy and overcomplicated and if something goes wrong it leaves the attacker badly exposed with their centre of gravity and stability ruined on one leg. Considering they’re supposed to be trained militaristic killers I figured something shorter, sharper and more efficient would’ve been in order.

A quick step forward and a double jab to the face with both fists is faster, more efficient, and easier to recover from, and would’ve achieved the objective of stunning the target and knocking him back into their knife wielding comrade without sacrificing positioning by standing one leg with the other above your head.

  • Timpo

I think the kick is more of a round house than a standing front kick :)

  • Lazy J

nope its a standing front kick you can see the motion lines going at an upward straight angle but who cares how the kick is done has long has its effective, plus she caught that dude off guard completely

  • ForceUser

Remember this is a young, brash, and head strong person (see what I did there) and she would most likely be trying to impress her brother to show him she can take care of herself.

I shall second the reckless, feckless youth angle. Soon she might well be a formidable opponent but for now she will make mistakes. Of course maybe a standing front kick may well be a poor choice of shot but try explaining that to someone who is a) younger than you and (this is a maybe as we haven’t seen definitive evidence of this btw) b) thinks he/she is better than you.

It’s obvious that she is chomping at the bit to get at em’ and its also plain to see that she is technically competent but it is also clear that she could screw up and that is good writing IMO :)
