This scene is a bit of a throwback to Rei’s flashback at the beginning of chapter 9. Rei seems to see a bit of her younger self in Kate at this moment. 🙂
In other news, I’m happy to report that I’ve been feeling quite a bit better. Over the past few weeks I was dealing with pretty severe pain issues, but I took some time to heal and I’m hoping that it has passed. I’ve also been keeping up with my courses as much as possible, I’m currently juggling Aaron Blaise’s How to Paint Light course along with the Proko anatomy course (which is massive and will realistically take me a couple years to finish). I’m learning so much and it has been awesome for my productivity, as I find I’m able to get an image down much faster and accurate than before. I’m still trying to pace myself as I don’t want to aggravate any symptoms but it’s been really great so far.
Speaking of, I recently added color to the portrait I made of Grey a while back (I used his portrait for one of the face lighting lessons). I was surprised at how much adding the right highlights can make the image come to life. I’ve recently finished Agrippa’s portrait as well, so that’s also included in the most recent vote incentive.
