Hey guys, hope you’re all doing well!
Thanks again for your patience with this update. This is one of those pages that felt like it took an eternity to finish, that coupled with the fact that I’ve been dealing with some wrist and back pain is the main reason why it took me so long. Thankfully I seem to be getting better on both fronts and I have a few pages in the works at the moment, so I’m going to try to get back on track best I can the next few weeks.
I had a lot of fun with the lighting on this page. I’m currently taking Aaron Blaise’s lighting course (among others) and it’s been a lot of help so far. I realized I often relied on the same, lit from the side lighting for almost all the lighting on my characters, but this course showed how I can drastically alter the mood of an image simply by changing the direction of the light. It’s definitely something I need to keep working on and I plan to implement that into the comic moving forward.
In other news, you may have noticed that the header image has been updated! I redrew the old image as I felt like it was looking a bit dated and clashed with the more recent pages. I have the full image as a vote incentive over at Top Web Comics, I lined it up with the old image so you can see the before and after.
